Davie Times 14 Apr 1881 Died, In Fulton township April 7, 1881, Mrs. Elizabeth wife of J.R. Williams in her 53nd [sic] year. Her death was caused partially by erysipelas. She was married in October '53 and lived a happy life to the end. [John Rufus Williams married Elizabeth Foster 20 Oct 1853, Davie Co. NC. Elizabeth is identified in cemetery records of Fork Baptist Church, Davie County, as the daughter of R. and M. Foster, probably Radford and Mary Foster of the 1850 Davie County census: 1850 Davie County census household 560 Radford Foster 53 Mary 49 Elizabeth 20 Sarah 15 John 9 David Sears 50, black, laborer gravestone inscription: "She was a kind and affectionate wife. The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken Away, blessed be the name of the Lord, Job."]
