Carolina } Dobbs County } Be it remembred that on the fourth Day of September in the Fourth Year of our Independence Solomon Daughoty of the County Aforesaid and John Coart and Armwell Hearon of said County came before me Charles Markland, One of the Justices of the Said State, Assigned to keep the peace in said County & Acknowledged themselves to be indebted to his Excell'y the Governor, that is to say the said Solomon Daughoty in the sum of One Thousand pounds, & the said John Coart & Armwell Hearon severally in Five hundred pounds Current Money to be levied of their Goods & Charrels, Lands & Tenements severally, to the use of the State, if the said Solomon Daughoty shall make default in the condition under written. The Condition of this recognizance is such, that if the Above bound Solomon Daughoty shall personally appear in Court, at the next Superior Court to be held at Newbern in November next to Answer unto all such Matters as shall be then & there Objected against him, concerning insurrection, Muntiny, of Treason &c & do and what shall be enjoined by the Court & if in the meantime the said Daughoty keep the peace of the State &c That then this above recognizance be void, or else in full force. Taken & Acknowledged the day & Year above said before me.
