Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to Samuel Bartlet, 1783 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1, pg 240 – 200 acres State of North Carolina No. 339 To all to whome these presents Shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred Acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Samuel Bartlet have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Said Samuel Bartlet a tract of Land Containing two hundred acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs on the Watery branch Begining at a pine his own Begining tree and runs along his own line Wt. 280 poles to a black Jack then No. 104 pole to a post Oak then with Stradleys Line No. 25 Et. 78 pole to a pine then Et. 138 pole to a black Jack then So. 134 poles to a red Oak then Et. 160 pole to a red Oak on Minshews Branch then down the meanders So. 80 pole to a hickory then Wt. 50 poles to a black Jack then to the beginning as by the Plat hereunto annexed & doth appear together with all woods waters Mines Minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the sd.
