Colonial Records of Lenoir County, NC - Dobbs County, NC - Land Submitted for use in the USGenWeb Project Archives by Martha Marble COLONIAL RECORDS OF LENOIR COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA ALSO KNOWN AS THE LOVIT HINES COLLECTION - abstracted from Microfilm Roll MF - 95 by Martha Mewborn Marble NOTE: Lovit Hines collected as many originals or copies of original documents located in private hands as he knew about and had the NC Archives place said documents on microfilm. Some of these original documents are still in the possession of private individuals and some have been placed at the NC Archives or other institutions in Collections. I have tried not to duplicate individual records already abstracted from various sources especially the Edwards Collection where the original Hill and many of the Hardee documents are found. No doubt many of the originals of records in this Collection are in the James Hines and Wiatt Hines Collections, but they have not been abstracted as yet. The researcher also needs to refer to the Lenoir County Archives Page for those records dated after Dobbs County was abolished.
