Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to David Evans, 1779 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1, pg 130 – 500 acres State of North Carolina No. 202 To all whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that we for and in consideration of he sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted & paid unto our Treasury By David Evans have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said David Evans a tract of land containing five hundred acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs on the North side of Juniper Swamp beginning at a water oak in said Swamp William Foakes line runs with same No 260 poles to pine thence West 289 pole to a pine then So 250 pole to a pine then thence So 55 Et 80 pole to a red oak Sherods corner on the Swamp thence down the meanders thereof to the beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all the woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said David Evans his heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said David Evans shall cause this grant to be registered in the Registers Office of our County of Dobbs within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect Witness Richard Caswell Esq our Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Kingston the 18th day of November in the fourth year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord 1779 Richard Caswell Govr ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
