Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to John Hines, 1780 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1 – 540 acres State of North Carolina No. To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by John Hines have given and granted and by their presents do give and grant unto the said John Hines a tract of land containing five hundred and forty acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs on the North side of Falling Creek beginning at a Water Oak near the head of hog pond and runs Et 333 poles to a pine St 120 poles to a Maple then with Allens line No 88 Wt 133 poles to a red Oak his corner then with his other line So 10 Wt 300 poles then Wt 220 poles to a pine then to the beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said John Hines his heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us said sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said John Hines shall cause this grant to be registered at the Registers Office of said County of Dobbs within twelve months of from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect in Testimony whereof we have caused our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Caswell Esquire our Governor Captain General & Commander in Chief at Kingston the 3rd day of April in the fourth year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord 1780 Richard Caswell Govr ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
