D, p. 34 Isaac HINES, Sr. of Dobbs Co., NC to Daniel HINES of Duplin Co., NC-600 acres 7 Jan 1787 This Indenture made the 7th day of January in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred & eighty seven between Isaac HINES of the State of N. Carolina & County of Dobbs of the one part & Dan’l. HINES of the Province aforesaid & County of Duplin of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds specie money to me Isaac HINES in hand paid by said Dan’l. HINES before the unsealing & delivery of these presents the recipe whereof I myself to be satisfied & paid every part & parcel thereof, therefore have given granted bargained sold & conveyed & by these presents do fully freely & absolutely give alien convey & confirm unto Daniel HINES his heirs Execrs. Admrs. & assigns forever one hundred acres of land lying in Duplin County & on N side of Goshen Swamp & on the town side of Buck Branch & Holly Spring beginning at a Pine & running S 85 - 120 poles thence N - - 226 poles to a Pine, thence down the lower side of the branch to the beginning containing one hundred acres be it more or less later? up & Patented by Dan’l SULLIVAN, also another tract or parcel of land in Duplin County on the S side of the beginning? the above mentioned land or an branch of Bucks Marsh beginning at a Pine & runs thence N 35 W 60 poles to a Pine the corner of the other Survey, thence along his other line N 5 E to Jones branch there up the branch to the back line thence a straight line to the beginning containing 200 acres be the same more or less at being part of 250 acres. Also another survey beginning at a Pine on the other line in the side of Jones Branch & runs S 60 E ? poles to a Jack Thence S 22 W 274 poles to a Pine by WESTBROOK’S old house thence W 160? poles to a pine on his own line thence with his line to the beginning contain gin Three hundred acres to have & to hold to the said Daniel HINES his heirs, exert & Assigns together with all advantages woods ways waters & — houses & as for myself the aforesaid Isaac HINES my heirs Executors admrs. & assigns doth hereby covenant promise & engage with the said Dan’l HINES his heirs, Execrs., Admrs & assigns that they shall peaceably hold use occupy & enjoy the aforesaid land & premises with all the appurtenances & privileges to the same belonging free & clear from all encumbrances whatsoever & affirm the said Isaac HINES — heirs Execrs, Admrs. & assigns will forever warrant — —— the aforesaid land & premises as aforesaid to have the said Dan’l HINES his heirs Execrs, Admrs & assigns against the lawful claim or claim son any person or persons whatsoever.
