Carolina & County of Dobbs & Lewis HINES of the State aforesaid & County of Duplin of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the natural love & affection which he hath & doth bear towards his beloved son Lewis HINES & desires other good causes & considerations him thereunto moving? hath given granted & by these presents doth give & grant unto the said Lewis HINES his heirs & assigns forever one ensuing? a Tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County aforesaid of Duplin & State aforesaid it being part of a Survey granted by Patent to Daniel SULLIVAN in New Hanover County this is now Duplin County on Back Branch & Holly Springs which is now called Jone’s branch all he land in that survey that lies on the N side of the said Jones’s branch containing one hundred acres more or less. Patent bearing date 1745 & also I give other messauge tract or parcel of land lying & being in the aforesaid County of Duplin & State aforesaid it being part of a Survey granted to me the sad. Isaac HINES for two hundred & fifty acres, the part in the N side of the said branch called Jones Branch running the meanders of the said branch and runs containing one hundred acres be the same more or less, Patent bearing date 1775, and also one other messauge tract or parcel of land lying & being in the aforesaid County of Duplin adjoining the above mentioned land on the N E branch of Cape Fear & on Jones’s branch that runs into Buck March & in the E side of the Swamp beginning at a Pine Sam? ALBERTSON’S corner S 68? E to a pine then nearly a S W course a straight line to a red oak Hardy BENTON’S old corner tree then up the Swamp to the beginning, containing one hundred acres more or less, it being part of a survey of 390? acres taken up by John BECK Patent bearing date 1768. And also one other messauge tract or parcel of land lying & being n the aforesaid County of Duplin on the E side of the NE River and E side of Buck Swamp joining the above lines & Wm. ALBERTSON’S line, beginning at a Pine on his own line runs N 100 poles to a small water oak in a branch thence W 160 poles to a Pine thence S 20 poles to a stake on ALBERTSON’S line thence with his lien S 65 E 162 poles to a Pine, thence to the beginning, containing 60 acres more or less. To have & to hold the sd. 4 tracts of land containing by estimation 361 acres to him the said Lewis HINES his heirs & assigns with all singular the benefits, privileges & appurtenances thereunto in any wise belonging to Isaac HINES for himself his heirs Execrs. Admrs. doth hereby promise covenant & agree to & with the sd. Lewis HINES his heirs & assigns to warrant secure forever defend the sd. Lewis HINES his heirs & assigns on the peaceable quiet possession full? & singular the sd. four tracts of land & premises hereby given & granted & every part of and thereof from & against him the sd. Isaac HINES his heirs Execrs. Admrs and assigns of and against all & every person or persons whatsoever claiming any right title or interest of in & to the same or any part or parcel thereof. In witness whereof the sd. Isaac HINES hath hereunto set his hand & seal this day & year first set here.
