Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to Caleb Musgrave, 1782 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1, pg 250 – 130 acres State of North Carolina No. 301 To all to whome these presents Shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred Acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Caleb Musgrave have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Said Caleb Musgrave a tract of Land Containing one hundred and thirty acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs and on south side of Nuse and East side of falling Creek Begining a Hickory Ann Pearses corner at a branch of the horse Marsh and runs with her Line So. 130 poles to a pine then Et. 72 poles to a pine in Moses Musgraves line then with his line No. 45 Et. 140 poles to a pine and black Jack then No. 80 to a black Jack then a direct line to the beginning as by the Plat hereunto annexed & doth appear together with all woods waters Mines Minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the sd. Caleb Musgrave his Heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us such Sum of Money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct Provided always that the said Caleb Musgrave Shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our said County of Dobbs within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be Void and of no effect in Testimony whereof we have caused our great Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alexander Martin esquire our Governor Captain General & Commander in Chief at Fairfield the 29th day of October in the seventh year of our Indepencence & in the year of our Lord 1782 Alex Martin October Court ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
