Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to Ann Pearse, 1784 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1, pg 249 – 200 acres State of North Carolina No. 258 To all to whome these presents Shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred Acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Ann Pearse have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Said Ann Pearse a tract of Land Containing two hundred acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs and on south side of Nuse and East side of falling Creek Begining at a pine called Musgraves Corner and Wt. 100 poles to a black Jack then No. 40 poles to a Stake then with Everetts Line No. 60 Et. 180 poles to a pine then with his other hine No. 35 Et. 57 poles to a pine then Et. 72 pole to a hickory then So. 182 poles to a pine thence to beginning as by the Plat hereunto annexed & doth appear together with all woods waters Mines Minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the sd. Ann Pearse her Heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us such Sum of Money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct Provided always that the said Ann Pearse Shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our said County of Dobbs within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be Void and of no effect in Testimony whereof we have caused our great Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Caswell esquire our Governor Captain General & Commander in Chief at Kingston the third day of April in the fourth year of our Indepencence & in the year of our Lord 1780 Richard Caswell October Co. 1784 ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
