Dobbs County, NC – Deeds – State to Solomon Rouse, 1782 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1 – page 187 - 350 acres State of North Carolina No. 424 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Solomon Rouse have given and granted and by their presents do hereby give and grant unto the said Solomon Rouse a tract of land containing three hundred and fifty acres lying and being in our County of Dobbs on the north side of the marsh branch begining at a persimmon tree in said branch in or near John Daniels line then along said line No 144 to the corner of a pine then along the other line Wt 320 poles to a red oak in sd line then So 162 poles to a red oak near the road then Et 50 pole to a red oak then So 18 poles to a white oak in said branch thence down the said branch runing the various courses of the branch to the first station as by the plot hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenences of the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Solomon Rouse his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said Solomon Rouse shall cause this grant to be registered in the Registers Office of our said County of Dobbs within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect in Testimony whereof we have caused our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alexander Martin Esquire Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at (blank) the (blank) day of (blank) in the seventh year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord 1782 Alex Martin Gov ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
