Dobbs County, NC - Deeds - William Whitfield to Bryan Whitfield, 1782 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wayne County Deed Book 1, pg 83-85 This Indenture made the 16th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one between William Whitfield of No. Carolina and County of Wayne and Bryan Whitfield of the County of Dobbs Witness that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred eighty pounds to the Wm Whitfield in hand paid by the said Bryan Whitfield at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth release acquit and discharge the said Bryan Whitfield his Exr's admr's by these presents he the said Wm Whitfield hath granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Bryan Whitfield and his heirs a certain tenemant parcell or piece of land situate lying and being in the County of Wayne aforesaid formerly called Dobbs County bounded as followeth begining above the mouth of Falling Creek on the south side Neuse river thence running So. 130 pole to a red oak thence So. 30 Wt. 50 pole to a red oak thence So. 50 Wt. 60 pole thence No. to a marked red oak on falling Creek road thence westerly to a Wt. oak a marked tree on the Neuse road thence up the said road to the Patent line thence the various courses of the Patent lines to a gum on the River bank thence down the river to the first station it being part of a survey made and patented by Col. William Wilson for 300 acres bearing date 14 July 1738 containing by estimation two hundred & ninety acres including the old store plantation & all houses buildings orchards ways water and water courses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances unto the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining and all the rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said William Whitfield of in and to the said premises and all deeds evidences and rightings concerning the same to have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold and every part and parcell thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Bryan Whitfield & of his heirs and assigns forever and the said William Whitfield for himself and his heirs Exr's & admr's doth covenant promise and grant to and with the said Bryan Whitfield his heirs and assigns by these presents that the said William Whitfield now at the time of sealing and delivering of these presents is seized of a good sure perfect and indefenseable estate of inheritance in fee simple of and in the premises hereby bargained and sold by virtue of a deed from John Williamson bearing date 8th Janr'y 1760 and that he hath good power and lawful & absolute authority to grant and convey the same to the said Bryan Whitfield in manner and form aforesaid and that the said premises now are & so forever hereafter shall remain and be free and clear of and from all former gifts grants bargains sales dowries judgements executions and all incumbrances whatsoever made done commited or suffered by the sd. William Whitfield or any other person or persons by for and under him and that the said William Whitfield and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Bryan Whitfield his heirs and assigns against him the said William Whitfield and his heirs and all and every person and persons whatsoever shall warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof the said William Whitfield hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal this day and year above written Pres't Jonathan Benton Wm.
