B. Irwin 202 S. Baldwin St. St. Paul, Minn. Madam: I have to advise you from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim S. 7446, it appears that Benjamin Sasser was born May 7, 1755 on Stony Creek in Dobbs County, North Carolina. While residing in Duplin County, North Carolina, he enlisted and served as a private with the North Carolina Troops, as follows: In 1776, two months and twenty days in Captain William Taylor's Company, Colonel James Kenan's Regiment; in 1776, two months in Captain Sanders Outlaw's Company under Major James Moore; in 1776 one month in Captain Hardy Holmes' Company, Colonel Hogan's Regiment; in June 1781, fifteen days under Major Abraham Molton; and in July 1781, ten days in Colonel Axum's Regiment. He was allowed pension on his application executed August 14, 1832, while a resident of White Marsh, Columbus County, North Carolina. Soldier's son, Frederick, was living in said Columbus County in 1832. There are no further data as to family.
