Rayfords corner NORTH-CAROLINA No. 182 His Excellency Josiah Martin, Esq; His Majesty's Captain-General, and Governor in Chief, in and over the said Province, To the Surveyor-General, Greeting; You are forthwith to admeasure and lay out, or cause to be admeasured and laid out, unto Charles Cogdell a Plantation, containing three Hundred Acres of Land, in the County of Dobbs No. side of Little River joining Wm Raiford's & Robert Fellows's Land including the Plantation where John Page formerly lived. Observing his Majesty's Instructions for running out Lands; Two just and fair Plans whereof, with a proper Certificate annexed to each, you are to return into the Secretary's Office, within Twelve Months from the Date hereof: And if the Warrantee shall not within Eighteen Months from the Date hereof, take out a Patant for the said Land, this Warrant, and all Proceedings thereon, shall be void and of no Force; and the said Land shall be deemed vacant and free to be taken up by any other Person. Given at Newbern under my Hand, the 19 Day of May Annoque Domini 1773 Jo. Martin Jas. Parratt D.S. Octo'r 19th 1773 Survey'd for Charles Cogdell a plantation containing one Hundred & two Acres of Land in Dobbs County Begining at a pine Wm Rayfords line & runs No. 88 poles to two white oaks then Wt. 220 poles to a stake near a marked red oak then So. 100 poles to Rayfords line then a Direct line to the Begining.
