And as to such worldly estate which by the permission of God my late husband George Cogdell bestowed or give to me by his last Will and Testament I hereby do dispose of in the following manner (to Wit). Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Cogdell the plantation where on I now live to him his heirs and assigns and in giving him the land I think is a Act of Justice as he advanced the money to buy the land and has never been reimbursed. Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Abigale Bridgers a Negro boy named Abraham and to his heirs and assigns and as my son Francis my daughter Sarah and sons Charles and David have been provided for already by their fathers will equally as much each as the residue of his estate in my hands will now enable me to do for the other children. My will and desire is that the following Negroes Vizt Sam Rose Isaac and their increase together with the cattle horses sheep household furniture and all other personal estate be by my Executors sold at public venue as the law directs and the money arising from such sale to be equally divided amoungsh my following children Richard Cogdell Anne Farr Margaret Williamson Hannah Pipkin and Mary Herring, after paying my funeral charges and paying the Quit rents due to his majesty for the before mentioned plantation. And I do hereby appoint Gov. Richard Caswell and my beloved son Richard Cogdell Executors of this my last Will and Testament to see the same fulfilled and justice done according to my desires. In witnesseth wherein I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of July 1772. Richard Grantham Memorandum of Agreement by and between Francis Cogdell, Sarah Crawford, Charles Cogdell and David Cogdell, children and ? of George Cogdell deceased agreeable to the will of the said George which directs that when Sarah shall be arrived to the age of twenty years old, a division that then be made of the Negroes in the said will mentions and their increase the parties to then presents do heretofore agree that the said division be made in the following manner and each to receive his or her part at the death of Margaret Cogdell or before if she consent to it to wit, Francis to have Jack, Sarah Crawford to have Doll (now in possession of), Charles to have Juno and Porthena children of Dina, David to have Dina which division we do all agree to be made in the manner aforsaid.
