Marble http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005285 March 21, 2014, 8:38 am Source: Whitfield Grady Collection Written: 1868 GRADY LAND SOLD FOR TAXES – PART 2 - 1868 State of North Carolina Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions Duplin County April Term 1868 It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Grady Outlaw purchased two hundred and fourteen acres of land of the tract of land of two hundred and fifteen acres listed by Henry Grady in 1840 at a sale made of the same by John E. Hussey Sheriff of Duplin County in said year for the taxes due on said land and paid the same taxes to the said Sheriff amounting to three dollars & eighty six cents and that he has paid the taxes that have accrued on the same since that time. It is ordered that the present Sheriff of Duplin County execute a deed of the same to said Grady Outlaw on his producing to him a certified platt and survey of the said two hundred and fourteen acres as provided by law. The above plat represents a tract of land listed by Henry Grady in the year 1841 for taxation and which said tract was duly sold by Jno E. Hussey Sheriff of Duplin County for the taxes due thereon This continues as the description above except it covers the missing acre of land.
