William Pearce, Declared to Wm. Grimes, Lt.
Ditto: one likely young mare lent to the
Said deceased by Sarah Grimes wife
To the said William Grimes and
Not returned

Duplin County June 19, 1780
This day Sarah Grimes wife of the 
Lt. William Grimes came before me
And made oath on the Holy Doings of God
That she lent her brother William Pearce
The above mentioned mare for which
She was to receive another mare as
Good or better, and that she has never
Rec’d (received) the said mare or any sattisfaction 
For the same.  Sworne before me, the
Above date.
