Additional Comments: Edward and Sarah Newman lived in an area of Duplin County that became part of Sampson when that county was created later in 1784. Edward died in the Revolutionary War probably between Aug 1783, when he appeared on the pay roster, and 19 Jan 1784, when his widow applied for letters of administration on his estate (these documents are in the Court section of the Duplin County USGW archives).
