An inventory of the Estate of Edward Newman Deceased are as follows:

one bed & furniture

two mars
nine cattle
nine hogs
2 iron potts
one skillitt
five pewter dishes
3 basons

one flax wheel

one loom & gears
6 chares
a parcel of carpenters tools
one steel trap
1 iron how & wedge
one +cutt saw
1 flat hatchett

Additional Comments:

Edward and Sarah Newman lived in an area of Duplin County that became part of  
Sampson when that county was created later in 1784.  Edward died in the 
Revolutionary War probably between Aug 1783, when he appeared on the pay 
roster, and 19 Jan 1784, when his widow applied for letters of administration 
on his estate (these documents are in the Court section of the Duplin County 
USGW archives).
