Duplin County, NC - Henry Rogers - Act to Legitimate, 1827 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act to alter the name of Henry Rogers, of Duplin county, and to legitimate him Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passing of this act, Henry Rogers, of the county of Duplin, the illegitimate son of William Broadhurst, by his present wife, be, and he is hereby legitimated by the name of Henry Broadhurst; and by the name shall sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded; and shall be capable of taking property both by descent and distribution, in as full and ample a manner as though he were born in lawful wedlock.
