KENNON, Sheriff by my Lawful Deputy Samuel HOUSTON of the County aforesaid on the 30th day of March 1835 attended by James CHAMBERS, John MONK, Dempsey TAYLOR, James CARRELL, Jesse STRICKLAND, Richard FRANKLIN?, James G. STOKES, Ephraim STRICKLEN, William SWINSON, Abner HEATH, Sam’l STANFORD, Thomas HEATH; Freeholders; unconnected with Rachel SLOAN, Widow of Gibson SLOAN by —- amenity or affinity and entire by disinterested by me duly Summoned came in proper person to a certain plantation whereof the said Gibson SLOAN, Dec’d died, Seized and possessed mentioned in the annexed writ sing in the County of Duplin whereon the said Dec’d family lived a joining the Lands of Dan’l GILLMORE on the South William WELLS on the west John LINTIN, Ephraigm STRICKLAND on the north & Thomas HEATH on the East containing by Estimation Two Thousand five hundred acres Viz: beginning at a Stake on the E side of Mury Slast? branch and runs thens N 80 W 236 poles to a stake thence N 41 W 212 poles to a pine thence South 45 W 174 poles to a pine thence South 13? W 74 poles to a pine thence S 26 W 120 poles to a pine thence S 42 W 112 poles to a Stake thence South 86 E 139 poles to a pine thence S 10 E 216 poles to a light wood Stump thence N 67 E 54 poles to a pine thence N 10 E 120 poles to a black Gum thence South 80 E 54 poles to a Sweet Gum thence N 48 W 23 poles to a Light wood Stump thence to the beginning containing by Estimation eight hundred and Seventy four acres more or less and including the Mansion House of Gibson SLOAN, Dec’d In which he most generally dwelt before before his Decease and all the offices set? houses, buildings and improvements unto them unto belonging or in anywise appertaining which being Done.
