This indenture made this fourth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & six, Between George THOMAS & Mary THOMAS, Timothy GOODMAN & Elizabeth GOODMAN of the County of Lenoir & State of North Carolina of the one part & Edward ALBERSON of the County of Duplin and same State of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said George THOMAS, Mary THOMAS, Timothy GOODMAN, Elizabeth GOODMAN for and in consideration of the sum of eighty milled dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge ourselves to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid, have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain sell & makeover unto the said Edward ALBERSON his heirs or assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Duplin & State on the waters of the North East river, Beginning at a stake in the marsh & runs North 80 poles to a Read Oak, then East, 60 pole to a Reak Oak, then S 85 poles to a Stake in a Marsh, then West along Samuel DREW line 110 poles to a Lightwood Stake?, then along James MATHIS’ line to the first station, containing one hundred acres, taken up by Samuel SOWELL & conveyed by deed to John BARNET and from him as by Heirship. To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of land & premises unto him the Said Edward ALBERSON his heirs or assigns forever, Together with all & Singular the house, orchard, mines, minerals & all the privileges as to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and we the said George THOMAS, Mary THOMAS, Timothy GOODMAN, Elizabeth GOODMAN do hereby Covenant, promise & agree for ourselves our heirs execs. & admrs. to warrant and forever defend the aforesaid land and premises to him the said Edward ALBERSON, his heirs or assigns forever, free from the lawful claim of us our heirs execs. admrs. or any other person or persons whatsoever.
