Abstract of Deed by HRG Book 2, pages 59, 60 & 61. James Grimes, wife Sarah Grimes and all to Lewis Grimes. Dated: 5 March 1808. 180 acres for 160 dollars. James Grimes and his wife Sarah Grimes, Elisah Jones and his wife Catherine, George Oadham and his wife Elizabeth to Lewis Grimes, deed 180 acres on Little Mill Branch and Griffith Branch being a part of a survey of 640 acres granted to John Winders, Sr, deceased and fell by heirship to said James Grimes and wife Sarah and her sisters, Catherine and Elizabeth, whereas, Lewis Grimes has produced a deed of Conveyance, of 1808, made to him from James Grimes and Sarah Grimes, etc., the Court ordered on 28 February 1828 that John Watkins and Bryan Kornegay proceed to question Sarah, Catherine and Elizabeth and got written testimony after private examinations they did upon there own free will sign said deed of 1808 to Lewis Grimes.
