Bk 4A p. 153 MAURICE MOORE of N.C. to DAVID HOOKS of Duplin Co. 4 Oct 1807 for 
1200 silver dollars 250A on the NS of Bear Swamp in 2 tracts to wit: (1) 225A 
beg. at a water oak at the mouth of a small branch about 1/4 mile from the 
main road, joining MICHAEL BYRD, GILBERT McCALOP'S back line, the lower line 
of sd. McCALOP'S old survey to the run of Horse Pen Branch; (2) 25A joining 
the above survey incl the planta. on the SS of the main road where JOHN BYRD 
formerly lived, beg. at a hickory on the bank of the run of Gilbert's Branch & 
runs thence a dividing line with NEEDHAM BLOUNT'S line, to the run of Horsepen 
Branch, to the mouth of Gilbert's Branch to the beg.
