Hosea MURRAY to Wm. SLOAN, Junr.
Deed 150 Acres

This Indenture made this Tenth day of October in the year of our Lord One 
Thousand Eight Hundred & Twenty Nine between Hosea MURRAY of the County of 
Duplin & State of North Carolina of the one part & William SLOAN, Junr. of the 
said County & State of the other part, Witnesseth that for & in consideration of 
the Sum of One Hundred Dollars in hand paid to the said Hosea MURRAY the receipt 
where of is fully hereby acknowledged before unsealing & delivering of these 
presents, have bargained, sold, granted, confirmed & conveyed unto the said 
William SLOAN, Junr. his heirs & assigns forever. One Tract of Land on the West 
side of the North East River, Beginning at a Water Oak on the River Bank 
BAILEY'S Corner, thence his lien N 15 W 180 poles to a pine Wimbrick BONEY'S 
Corner, thence his lien N 65 W 130 poles to a Blackjack 17 poles beyond his 
Corner by the Pocosin Thence as the Pocosin S 35 W 80 poles to a pine not he 
North East side of 7? ads or grassy? branch just above the new road, thence the 
same course continued about 20 Steps to the run of the said branch, thence the 
meanders of the said branch down to this upper end of Isaac JAMES'S old ditch 
which is in the said branch nearly opposite the old residence of James MURRAY, 
Senr. at his ford on said branch thence the meanders of said Ditch to the lower 
end at a little branch, thence a direct course to the beginning, supposing then 
to be one hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold to 
the Said William SLOAN, Junr. the before mentioned Tract or parcel of land with 
all the appurtenances thereon to belonged, doth covenant & agree to Warrant & 
forever defend the said William SLOAN, Junr. his heirs & assigns forever against 
the lawful or any & all persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof I the said Hosea 
MURRAY do hereunto set my hand & affix my Seal the day & date above written.
