Benjamin ROCHELLE to Jacob ROCHELLE
9 Aug. 1847

This Indenture made the 9th day of August in the year of our Lord 1847, 
between Benjamin ROCHELLE of the one part and Jacob ROCHELLE of the other 
part, both of the said state and county of Duplin, witnessed that the said 
Benjamin ROCHELLE for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me 
in hand paid by the said Jacob ROCHELLE the receipt whereof is fully 
acknowledged have given granted bargained sold set over & forever quit 
claimed & confirmed all the right, title interest & claim of myself my heirs 
& assigns for ever all & singular unto the said Jacob ROCHELLE all my right 
title and claim to certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the 
State and County aforesaid lying being on the drains of Angola Pocosin, 
beginning at a Stake near the pocosin then N 100 poles to a lightwood Stump 
on PICKETT’S line then with PICKETT’S other line S 80 E 200 poles to a pine 
PICKETT’S corner formerly Wm BURTON’S Corner then S 46 E 240 poles to a 
stake then N 49 E 105 poles to a pine on the Samuel JOHNSON old line thence 
with said line S 15 E 250 poles to a lightwood Stump then N 60 W 220 poles 
to a Black Gum in the mouth of Shot Bag Branch then the same course 
continued N 60 W 102 poles to pine then to the beginning containing 400 
acres be it the same more or less to have and to hold the said land above 
mentioned to him he said Jacob ROCHELLE his heirs & assigns for ever with 
all the improvements privileges & appurtenances thereto belonging & I the 
said Benjamin ROCHELLE do hereby warrant & defend & quit claim for myself my 
heirs & assigns forever unto Jacob ROCHELLE & his heirs Executors, Admrs. & 
Assigns. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand& seal day & date 
above written.
