SHADRACK STALLINGS } To } Deed 782 Acres Land JOHN STALLINGS } This Indenture made this 17th day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & seven, between SHADRACK STALLINGS of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part and JOHN STALLINGS, his son, of the same place of the other part Witnesseth the said SHADRACK STALLINGS for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand well and truly paid before the Executing & delivery of these present the Receipt where of is here by acknowledged and hath by these presents granted, Bargained, Sold, assigned & Set over to the said JOHN STALLINGS his heirs & assignes forever, a certain piece or parcel of Land, situated, lying and being in Duplin county aforesaid on both sides of Ben's Creek beginning at a Black Jack, Runing So W Et 100 poles to a lightwood stake in a cluster of three pines, then So 44 Et. 90 poles to a spanish oak, thence So. 69 Et 94 poles to a black and sweet gum in the said Creek at the Cooper ford, thence up a small drain So. 83 Et 64 poles to a Post Oak and Pine thence No 69 Et 200 poles to a lightwood stake in the center of 3 or 4 pines, thence So 50 Et 108 poles to a Pine near the Dog fennel pond, thence No 71 Et 140 poles to a Pine, thence Et 70 poles to a pine at the Gallburg, thence No 2 Wt 198 poles to a pine thence No 88 Wt 140 poles to a lightwood stump thence So 2 Et 154 poles to a pine thence No 87 Wt 178 poles to a stake, THOMAS WELL's Corner, thence No 80 Wt 155 poles to a pine thence No. 36 Wt 70 poles to a Maple on the East side of Ben's Creek, thence down the edge of the swamp nearly south 45 Wt. 74 poles to a stake, thence So. 24 Wt 24 poles to a black gum at the edge of sd swamp thence down the various courses of the Run of sd. Swamp to a white oak on the Wt side at the mouth of a branch near, STALLINGS old Bridge place STOAKE's corner, thence STOAKES line nearly So 20 Wt 60 poles, thence up the branch So 60 Wt 20 poles to a Poplar at the fork of Said Branch, thence up a prong of sd Branch about No 85 Wt 50 poles to the head of the drain, thence the same course 20 poles to the begining, containing in the whole seven hundred eighty two acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said Bargained land and premises with the appertaining to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said JOHN STALLINGS his heirs & assigns forever and the said SHADRACK STALLINGS for himself & his heirs, the aforesaid land & premises to him the said JOHN STALLINGS his heirs shall and will warrant & forever defend the title of the said land & premise to him the said JOHN STALLINGS his heirs & assigns forever in witness where of the said SHADRACK STALLINGS hath here unto set his hand & seal, the date above written.
