David SLOAN to Bryant CAVANAUGH, both of Duplin Co., NC-14 Acres
27 Oct 1832

This Indenture made this 27th October in the year of our Lord One Thousand and 
Eight Hundred & Thirty two between David SLOAN of the County of Duplin & State 
of North Carolina of the one part & Bryant CAVANAUGH of the County & State 
aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said David SLOAN for & in 
consideration of the sum of Thirty five dollars the recipe whereof is hereby 
acknowledged hath conveyed, granted, bargained, sold & confirmed & by these 
presents doth grant, bargain, sell & confirm unto the said Bryant CAVENAUGH of 
the other part his heirs, Exec’rs, Admr’s. & assigns forever a certain tract or 
parcel of Land lying in the State & County aforesaid, being a part of the 
JOHNSTON Land & Bounded & butted as follows - Viz - Beginning at a pine Lylin-? 
CAVENAUGH’S old Corner running S 30 E 30 poles to — on the road, thence S 87 W 
65 poles to a lightwood Tree on the road side, thence S 73 W 88 poles to an Oak— 
Flat branch, thence N 15 W 7 poles to a lightwood thence N 70 E 172 poles to the 
beginning, containing Fourteen Acres be the same more or less. The —— land & 
premises, hereditaments & appertenances thereunto belonging or appertaining the 
said David SLOAN doth for himself his heirs, Exr’s & Amr’s, warrant & forever 
defend to the said Bryant CAVENAUGH his heirs, ex’s, Admr’s to have & to hold to 
coupe & possess against the claim or Claims of all persons, whatsoever, In 
testimony whereof the said David SLOAN hath hereunto set and Affixed his hand 
and Seal this the day & year first before written.
