David SLOAN to Mary STREETS - 100 acres
16 July 1827

This Indenture made the 16th day of July in the year of Our Lord One Thousand 
eight hundred & twenty seven between David SLOAN in the State of N. Carolina & 
County of Duplin the one part & Mary STREETS of the same place of the other 
part. Witnesseth that the said David SLOAN for & in consideration of the sum of 
sixty dollars to him in hand paid before the unsealing & delivery of these 
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & the sd. David SLOAN 
therewith satisfied contented & paid & hath by these presents given granted, 
bargained sold aliened conveyed confirmed & forever set over  to the said Mary 
STREETS a certain tract of parcel of land  in said County on the Waters of 
Island Creek beginning at two pines, thence N 14 E 142 poles to a Water Oak in a 
pond thence N 69 E 53 poles to two lightwood trees Lewis THOMAS’S corner thence 
E 48 poles to a stake thence S 1 E 192 poles to a pine John EVEN’S corner thence 
to the beginning containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less. To 
have & to hold the above bargained land & premises to the said Mary STREETS her 
heirs, Exr’s, Admr’s & assigns forever  & the said David SLOAN the aforesaid 
lands & premises with all its appurtenances doth hereby warrant & defend to the 
said Mary STREETS her heirs & assigns forever & the said Mary STREETS the 
aforesaid  land & premises  may have hold hold use occupy possess & enjoy as her 
own lawful inheritance free & clear of the said David SLOAN his heirs & assigns 
& all & every other person claiming for or by him or them or any of them. In 
witness whereof the said David SLOAN hath hereunto set his hand & fixed his seal 
the day & year above written.

Then was the within deed proved in Open Court by the Oath of Hugh MCCANNE & 
ordered to be registered.
