David SLOAN to William SLOAN, both of Duplin County, NC - 75 Acres
4 Jan 1830

This Indenture made the 4th day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand 
and Eight Hundred & Thirty between David SLOAN of the County of Duplin & State 
of North Carolina of the one part & William SLOAN of the Same County & State 
aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the sum 
of One Hundred & Fifty dollars to the said David SLOAN the recipe whereof is 
hereby fully acknowledged before sealing & delivering of the present have 
bargained, sold & granted, confirmed & conveyed to the said William SLOAN his 
heirs & assigns forever. One Tract of Land lying in the said County on the side 
of Island Creek, Beginning at a Stake on the run of Island Creek in BONEY’S 
line, then S 15 W 100 poles to a white oak saplin, thence S 65 E 104 poles to a 
pine, thence N 65 E 60 poles to a pine by the Swamp, thence up the Swamp to the 
beginning of Boney’s Patent, thence up the run of the Creek to the beginning, 
containing 75 acres, be the same more or less and To have & to hold to the said 
Wm. SLOAN the before mentioned tract or parcel of land with all the 
appurtenances thereunto belonging doth covenant & agree to Warrant & Secure & 
forever defend the before mentioned Land & premises to him the said Wm. SLOAN 
his heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claims of any & all persons 
whatever. In witness there “ the said David SLOAN hereunto se this hand and 
affixed “ his seal the day & year above written.
