Gibson SLOAN TO Bryan W. SLOAN both of Duplin Co., NC - 210 acres
19 Jan. 1836

This indenture made the 19th day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand 
Eight hundred & thirty six between Gibson SLOAN of the State of North Carolina 
of Duplin County of the one part & Bryan W. SLOAN of the same State and County 
aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum 
of Two hundred & ten Dollars and ten cents in hand paid to the said Gibson SLOAN 
by the said Bryan W. SLOAN before the sealing & delivering of these presents the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged that the said Gibson SLOAN have bargained 
Sold & delivered and by these presents doth Bargain sell deliver set over 
confirm & forever convey unto the said Bryan W. SLOAN a certain tract or parcel 
of land situate lying & being in the County of Duplin and on the North Side of 
Parson’s Branch and on both sides of Graves branch & Bounded as follows: 
Beginning at a pine HEATHS corner and running then as — South 70 E 56 poles to a 
pine then South 50 E 188 poles to a small pine Sheffields? corner thence S 87 E 
77 poles to a Stake, SHEFFIELDS other corner thence N 55 E 90 poles to a pine 
thence N 35 W 54 poles to a Black Gum on the run of Grave branch thence of the 
run of said Branch as it meanders nearly West 145 poles to a water oak thence N 
35 W 18 poles to a Pine thence S 55 W 18 poles to a Black Gum on the run of said 
branch thence up the run of said branches it meanders nearly 70 poles to a maple 
thense to the beginning containing one hundred & ninety one acres be the same 
more or less to have & to hold the aforesaid Land & premises together with all 
the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Bryan W. SLOAN his heirs 
Admrs, Executors and assigns forever and the said Gibson SLOAN do hereby warrant 
& defend the above lands and premises free from him his heirs executors Admrs. 
and assigns and the Lawful claim or claims of any person or persons and from any 
encumbrances whatsoever unto him the said Bryan W. SLOAN his heirs & assigns 
forever to his own proper use and behoof in fee Simple in witness whereof the 
said Gibson SLOAN have hereunto set his name and affixed his seal the day and 
date above written.
