David SLOAN to David ROUSE
for 372 acres of Land

This Indenture made the Eighteenth day of Dec. in the year of our Lord One 
Thousand eight hundred and thirty Eight, Witnesseth that I, David SLOAN of the 
State of North Carolina and County of Duplin hath for and in consideration of 
the Sum of three hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid or Secured to be 
paid Bargained Sold and forever Let over unto David ROUSE of the same place the 
following tract of Land in Duplin County aforesaid one tract on the north side 
of Island Creek beginning at a pine near the road thence S 20 E 167? poles to a 
pine thence W 820 poles to a pine thence N 260 to a Stake on the new road thence 
with the road S 85 E 64 poles to a Stake thence with the road S 67 E 50 poles to 
a Stake thence with the road S 80 E 76 poles to a Stake on the old road at the 
fork thence S 14 E 24 poles to the first station containing three hundred and 
seventy two acres be the same more or less, I the said David SLOAN doth by these 
presents warrant and forever defend the aforesaid land and premises with all the 
appurtenances there unto belonging unto him the said David ROUSE his heirs and 
assigns forever against the Lawful claims & all other persons in Witness whereof 
I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and date above written.
