L, p. 311-312 David SLOAN to Luke MIZZELL, both of Duplin Co., NC- 80 acres 9 Sept 1800 This Indenture made the 9th day of September in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred. And in the 25th year of the American Independence. Between David SLOAN of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part, Planter; And Luke MIZZELL of the same place of the Other part. Witnesseth That for desires good Causes and Considerations him? thereunto moving. But more Especially for and in Consideration of the Valuable Sum of thirty pounds good & lawful money of the State aforesaid, To him in hand paid by the said Luke MIZZELL, The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself therewith fully satisfied Contented & paid Hath by these presents given granted bargained sold assigned and set over-And by these presents doth give grant bargain sell assign & set over unto the said Luke MIZZELL his heirs and assigns forever. One certain Tract or parcel of land Situate of Parson’s Branch - it being part of Six hundred & forty acres Patented by the said David SLOAN-Patent bearing date the Eleventh day of July 1788. Beginning at an Ash at the run of Parson’s branch running thence up the branch as it meanders a course Nearly West - to the mouth of Miry Slash? to an Ash the first Station of said Six hundred & forty acres - thence up the Miry Slash? as it meanders to said David SLOAN’S old line thence the dividing line between said David SLOAN & Gibson SLOAN to a Lightwood Stake then 13th corner in the said Patent. Thence a straight line to a Stake, William FILMIT’S? Corner & being the 18th Corner of said Patent. Thence the Patent line & FILMIT’S line S 40 East 127 poles to the first Station Containing by Estimation Eighty Acres be the same more or less. To have & to hold the Said Eighty Acres of Land & premises with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining of every Nature or kind whatsoever to the said Luke MIZZELL his heirs and assigns, To him the said Luck MIZELL his heirs & assigns, Warrant, License? & defend from and against him the Said, David SLOAN his heirs & assigns as also from and against the Just and Lawful claim and demand of all and every Other person or persons, who may here after lay any Lawful Claim to the same.
