4A 316  Isaac (l) (Note: appears to be a roman numeral one with a
horizontal line crossing through the center) Spence to John Screws, 
both of Duplin Co., 6 Apr 1807, for $40, 20A on the Ns of Goshen 
Swamp, joining the lines of sd. Spence, William Underhill & lands 
belonging to the estate of John Shuffield dec'd, beg. at a stake 
in the center of 3 pines in the edge of Pompy's Pocosin.  
Wit: Bryan Bourden, Elisha (X) Spence, William (Y) 
(Note: the mark is more of a u shape than a v on top of a vertical 
line) Underhill.  
Apr. Ct. 1811.
