"In Duplin County, North Carolina, No. 2318 (Book 54, apge 165) Samuel's land is recorded as adjoining that of Isaac Hines, Jesse Pipkin, and Richard Roberts. The map for this land entry is also shown, but no watercourse is shown. Benjamin Tanner also made an entry for 150 acres on the west side of the North East River (Cape Fear River) and north side of Persimmon Swamp on 21 Apr 1784, and the warrant was issued on 21 Sep 1785. Samuel Reed sold his 60 acres adjoining Isaac Hines, Jesse Pipkin, and Richard Roberds on 26 Nov. 1785, to Jesse Pipkin of Dobbs County, North Carolina, for 5 pounds specie.
