Duplin County, NC - John Tindall to Archelaus Pipkin, 1818 ~~~~~~~~~~ To all to whom these presents may concern - Know ye that I, John Tindal of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina of the first part and Archelaus Pipkin of the County of Lenoir & State aforesaid of the other part - witnesseth that I, John Tindal for and in consideration of the sum of Nine hundred & eighty four dollars, good and lawful money of North Carolina to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied contented & paid, do by these presents bargain, sell convey & set over unto the said Archelaus Pipkin a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin & on the north side of the drains of Poley Bridge Branch, butted and bounded as follows, viz, Beginning at a gum on the mouth of the Wolf branch Reuben Carters corner & runs S 87 W 112 poles to a stake thence S 54 poles to a stake, thence S 84 W 87 poles to a pine thence W 92 poles to a ___ thence S 85 W 56 poles to a stake then W 23 W 96 poles to a pine & spruce in a branch then ___ 16 poles thence E 72 poles to a stake S 49 poles to a stake, thence S 72 E 136 poles to a ___ of the Wolf Branch, thence down the run to the beginning containing three hundred and ninety seven acres The third day of Novbember in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and seventeen S/John X Tindal Signed in the presence of Elisha Pipkin, Micajah Bell, Alex Keaton State of North Carolina, Duplin County, April Term 1818, proved in court by the oath of Alex Keaton __________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
