p.3A 288  JAMES THOMPSON of Sampson Co., to WILLIAM UNDERHILL of Duplin Co., 6 
Feb 1797, for 250 pds. current money of N. C. 448A on the WS of Buck Hall in 3 
tractss to wit: (1) 300A being the contents of a patent granted to ROBERT 
HICKS, beg. at a water oak in a drain on McCULLAR'S line, to HANCOCK HATCHER'S 
line, up Spring Branch to a pine be the Mill Branch, to a pine ESTER WILLIAMS' 
old corner, deeded to sd. THOMPSON from ROBERT HICKS 2 Dec 1780; (2) 123A 
being the contents of a deed from JESSE DARDEN to JAMES THOMPSON 7 Feb 1791, 
beg. at a stake in the run of Buck Hall Swamp on sd. THOMPSON line, formerly 
THOMAS ATKINSON'S line, to a pine, being the corner & line of a survey of 300A 
of sd. THOMPSON'S patented by ROBERT HICKS on the SW side of sd. Buck Hall, to 
a poplar in Spring Branch WILLIAM WARD'S corner, down the run of Buck Hall 
with KEDAR BRYAN'S old line (now WILLIAM WARD POLLOCK'S line); (3) 25A also 
being part of a tract of 60A from sd. ATKINSON to sd. THOMPSON 15 Mar 1788, 
beg. at a maple on the run of Buck Hall by the mouth of the little or lower 
Spring Branch, FREDERICK RIVENBARK'S open corner to ROBERT HOOKS' old corner.  
Wit: ABNER HICKS, WILLIAM TUTON, KENAN LOVE.
