Duplin County, NC - Jesse Grimes Letters ----¤¤¤---- Index of letters to Jesse Grimes Jesse Grimes was born Feb. 6, 1788 Duplin Co., NC. died March 15, 1866, Grimes Co., Tx. Jesse was one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. William Sampson Grimes, wrote many letters to his brother Jesse Grimes from his home in Washington Co., Al. to Texas where his brother Jesse moved to in about 1826 from Washington Co., Al. Some of these letters can be found at The Center for American History, The University of Texas at Austin. Also in the Collection are some of the letters from others to Jesse Grimes.
