Duplin August 10th 1847 Cousin Whitfield, This will Inform you that I was so very sick that it was not prudent for me to attend last Thursday at your Meeting house indeed I have been confined for several days and under the preseription of the Doctor, but thank Heavens I am a great deal better. Those brethren who were to visit the churches failed to visit any of them except the Indian Springs. There was so much water??? But they yet have the disposition to visit all the churches provided the churches wish them to do so. It is not possible that I can visit your church Monday & Tuesday with Brother Browning in consequence of my health and other engagements, but hope it will be So I can at your September Meeting . Cousin Whitfield I do hope all our Churches will be united for their best Interests. I am of opinion (considering all the circumstances) that it will be best for all our churches to unite with the Union Association. I hope you are getting better. Respectfully Henry R. Kornegay NOTE: There appears something was torn off the bottom of this document.
