Brock, Joseph, Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Resided in Duplin County and enlisted in Lenoir County at age 34, May 6, 1862, 
for the war. Present or accounted for through June, 1863. Deserted on an 
unspecified date. Apprehended on an unspecified date and was court-
martialed "for deserting [his] comrades, and taking up arms on the enemy's 
side." Hanged in Kinston on February 15, 1864.
