Company A, 2nd Regiment NC Junior Reserves

Born in Duplin County on February 3, 1847. Resided in Duplin County
and was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in Duplin County
at age 17. Elected Captain on May 23, 1864. Was found incompetent
by the board of examination on August 24, 1864. Was suspended from
rank on September 28, 1864, pending a decision of the War Department.
However, he was reported present with the rank of Captain on August 31 
and in September-October, 1864. Survived the war.
