Hines, James A., Private
Company C, 27th Regiment NC Troops
Born in Duplin County and resided in Wayne County where he was by occupation a 
farmer prior to enlisting in Lenoir County at age 22, April 25, 1861. Present 
or accounted for until wounded in the right ankle and captured at Sharpsburg, 
Maryland, September 17, 1862. Paroled on September 27, 1862. Discharged on 
April 12, 1863, by reason of disability from wounds.
