Mustered in as Private and was promoted to Corporal in November, 1862-June, 1864. Wounded in the left arm at Cold Harbor, Virginia, June 3, 1864. Reported absent wounded until February 11, 1865, when he returned to duty. Captured at Farmville, Virginia, April 6, 1865. Confined at Newport News, Virginia, until released on June 27, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
