KELLY Certificate of Service of Soldier Duplin County, N.C. CSA CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE OF SOLDIER I certify that James T. KELLY a soldier of Capt. John W. Taylor’s Company of Artillery Regiment, of N.C. Troops, enlisted on the 2nd day of May 1862, and that he died in the service on the 11th day of October 1862; that he had received $50 Bounty from the State of North Carolina, and had at the time of his death $15.03 due him, on account of pay. WARD one of the acting Justices of the Peace for the State and county aforesaid Arminthia KELLY who maketh oath that James T. KELLY who died while a soldier in Capt. J. W. TAYLOR’S Company of Artillery Regiment, N.C. Troops was her husband and that the deceased left no executor or other person legally authorized to collect from the State of North Carolina. WARD one of the acting Justices of the Peace for the State and County aforesaid Anna KNOWLES, Dicey ROCHELLE who maketh oath that they are acquainted with Armintha KELLY and know that she as the wife & widow of James T. KELLY who died while a soldier in Capt. J. W. TAYLOR’S Company of Artillery Regiment N.C. Troops and that she is the nearest legal representative of the said deceased and further that they have no interest in this claim. Sworn and subscribed before me on this 5th day of January 1863.
