C. of the one part & Jacob & Henry HANCHEY of the other part. Witnessed that for & in consideration of the sum of Six hundred dollars to me the said David SLOAN in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do bargain sell & deliver to the said Jacob & Henry HANCHEY ac certain parcel or tract of land being in the above mentioned County & state lying on both sides of Island Creek. Beginning at a pine, Wimbrick BONEY & CARTER’S corner thence with BONEY’S line to the Creek thence up the run to where Thos. JOHN’S patent line crosses thence with JOHN’S line to a corner in a pond on a Spruce pine thence N 88 poles to a stake thence N 25 W to a Black ack & Hickory thence as NORRIS’S line to a Water oak near the run of Island Creek thence down the run to the fork of the Creek thence up the little Creek to a Cypress on JOHN’S line thence with that line to JOHNS corner thence with JOHN’S & BONEY’S line to KENAN’S line thence with KENAN’S line to CAVENAUGH’S thence with his line to the beginning containing by estimation three hundred acres be the same more or less to us the said Jacob & Henry HANCHEY to have & to hold forever free from all other rights titles or claims whatsoever excepting a life estate on thirty acres of said land by Wm. CARRELL & I the said Nancy SLOAN agree for & in consideration one hundred dollars to me in hand paid to give up & sell my life Estate on sd. land the old plantation my former residence to said Jacob & Henry HANCHEY & I the said David and Nancy SLOAN doth agree to warrant & defend the aforesaid mentioned lands & premises to us the aforesaid Jacob & Henry HANCHEY their heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claims of any & all claims whatsoever. In witness whereof I the said David SLOAN do hereunto set my hand & affix my seal the day & year above written.
