David SLOAN to William SLOAN
Deed 125 Acres

This Indenture made this the fourth day of January in the year of Our Lord One 
Thousand Eight Hundred & Thirty two, between David SLOAN of the State of North 
Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part & William SLOAN of the County & 
State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said David SLOAN for & in 
consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred & Twenty five dollars the recipe whereof 
is hereby acknowledged hath bargained & sold granted, confirmed, delivered & 
conveyed unto the said William SLOAN his heirs, Exrs. Add. & assigns forever, a 
certain tract of Land lying in the State & County above mentioned on the West 
side of the North East River & on the South side of Island Creek. Beginning not 
he River bank at a Water Oak, Isaac JAME’S Corner opposite the Pereaugur? Point 
& runs thence N 15 W 205 poles to a pine SLOAN’S own Corner, thence his line N 
65 E 60 poles to a dead pine his Corner thence N 30 poles to a Water Oak near 
the run of Island Creek, then down the run as it meanders to the River then down 
the River to the beginning containing by estimation One Hundred & Twenty five 
acres more or less.
To have & to hold to the said William SLOAN the before mentioned Tract or parcel 
of Land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging. The said David SLOAN 
doth covenant & agree to warrant secure & forever defend the above named Land & 
premises to him the said William SLOAN his heirs, Exr’s. Adm.’s. & assigns 
forever, against the lawful claims & Titles of any & all persons whatsoever. In 
Witness whereof the David SLOAN doth hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal 
this the day & year above written.
