Mason http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005225 March 9, 2022, 4:39 pm Source: ROD Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/duplin/photos/documents/williams1424nph.jpg Image file size: 154.2 Kb Transcribed by Sloan Mason slomas7@comcast.net Register of Deeds Duplin County, NC Bk. 10, p. 232 William SLOAN to David SLOAN 15 Sept 1834 This Indenture made this fifteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty four between William SLOAN of the State of North Carolina of the first part & David SLOAN of the County & State above mentioned of the second part, Witnesseth that the said William SLOAN of the first part doth for & in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged bargain sell convey & confirm & deliver unto the said David SLOAN of the second part all the lands which he the said William SLOAN now holds lying on the North side of the North East River & West of Island Creek butted & bounded as follows: (viz) Beginning at a stake on the run of Island Creek in BONEY’S line at the old ford thence S 15 W 100 poles to a white oak sapling, 65 W 17 poles to a Black jack by the pocosin thence as the pocosin S 85 W 80 poles to a pine on the pine on the North side EZELL or Grassey be such above the new road thence the same course continued about 20 steps to the run of the branch thence the meanders of said branch down to the upper end of Isaac JAMES’S old ditch is on said branch opposite the old residence as James MURRAY, Sr. at his fork in said branch thence the meanders of said ditch to the lower end at a little branch thence a direct course to the river at springanfer? point to a water oak Bailey’s corner, thence up the river to the mouth of Island Creek thence up the Creek as it meanders to the beginning containing by estimation three hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less to have & to hold to enjoy & possess to him the said David SLOAN his heirs Exec’r, Adm’r & assigns forever & the said William SLOAN of the first doth covenant & agree to warrant & defend the right & title of the above described lands from him his heirs exec’s & admires. to him the said David SLOAN forever against the lawful claims of any & all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said William SLOAN doth hereunto set his names & affix his seal this the day & date above written.
