I Daniel Teachy of the State of NC and County of Duplin, being aged and infirm, but of perfect mind and memory, blessed be God, at the same time calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, viz: First, I recommend my Soul to God that gave it me and my Body to have decent an Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. Second, I will and ordain that my executors do sell so much of the most perishable part of my Estate as will be sufficient to discharge my just debts and personal expenses. Third, I will and ordain that my beloved wife, Anni Teachy, do have quiet and peaceable disposition of all that part of my lands to the east of the Iron Mine Branch joining Daniel Teachy, Jr. and the land that was formerly John Teachy's and known by the name of Tim's Place during her widowhood and at her decease it be the property of my son, Timothy Teachy and of his heirs forever. Fourth, I will and ordain that my beloved wife, Anni Teachy shall have during her natural life or widowhood, the following negroes, viz. Prince, Sophia, Cato, Jon, Salter, Jack, Nancy and her child, Hannah, and also all my stock cattle, horses, sheep, hoggs, etc., together with all my household furniture and plantation tools of every nature and kind whatsoever. Fifth, I will and ordain that after my wife decease my negro wench Nancy and her child Hannah and their increase from this date be the property of my son, James Teachy and of his heirs forever. Sixth, I will and ordain that after the decease of my wife, Anni Teachy, the following negroes be equally divided between my two sons, Daniel Teachy and Timothy Teachy, viz., Prince, Sophy, Cato, Jon, Salter, Jack and Cate, together with all my household furniture and stock of every kind whatsoever with all my plantation tools and etc., increase of the female negroes above named and from this date to them, and their heirs forever. I also will and ordain that four young negroes viz., Fortune, Rose, Nancy and Matt, do remain in the possession of my beloved wife during her widowhood or natural life and that after her marriage or her decease they be equally divided between my two sons, Daniel Teachy and Timothy, including all the issue they may have from this date to the time of said division to them and their heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Teachy two hundred acres of land including the plantation whereon he now lives on the south side of the Iron Mine Branch joining Wimbric Boney's line and Daniel Teachy's to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Teachy one negro man slave named Billy to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Teachy one negro slave named Pompy and one negro girl slave named Amey with her increase from this date forward to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my son, Timothy Teachy, one negro boy named Toney and one wench named Hagar and her child named Nancy and their increase form this date forward to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Cook one negro wench named Grace together with her increase from this date forward to her and her heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Barbary George one negro girl named Lucy and her increase forever to her and her heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my son, John Teachy, five shillings money to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherin Boney five shillings sterling money to her and her heirs forever. Item - I give and bequ4eath to my grandson Daniel Teachy, son of John Teachy, ten pounds Specie to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my grandson Daniel Boney ten pounds Specie to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my grandson Teachy Cook 10 pounds Specie to him and his heirs forever. Item - I give and bequeath to my grandson Daniel George 10 pounds Specie to him and his heirs forever and lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my beloved wife Anni Teachy executrix and my son Daniel Teachy and Timothy Teachy executors to this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills and testaments by me made in witness whereof I the said Daniel Teachy hath hereunto set y hand and seal, published this 13th day of February in the 15th year of American Independence and in the year of our Lord 1791.
