Mason http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00023.html#0005630 February 14, 2019, 5:48 pm Source: Register Of Deeds Office Duplin County, Nc Written: 1859 BK. p. 15 Will of James MURRAY Written: 14 Dec. 1859 Probated: July 1960 North Carolina Duplin County Know all men by these presents, that I, James MURRAY of the State and County aforesaid (Planter) being weak of body but of usual mind and recollection, do make and ordained this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: 1st) All my Just debts shall be paid out of my Estate. 2nd) I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Catherine MURRAY the following property, all my household and kitchen furniture, two hundred pounds bacon, severn barrels of corn if it is on hand, one cow and sucklin?, one sow and pigs, five sheep, two ewes and lambs, and my stock of bees, and twenty five dollars during her natural lifetime or widowhood, annually if the money be in the hands of my executor or manger of the business after paying my debts, and other ensuing expenses and my wish is that she remain on her — premises. 3rd) All my property that has not been named except my boy TOM, shall be sold, and my boy TURN? hired out and the first day of January Annually at the village of Chinquapin at auction, during the natural lifetime or widowhood of my widow, by my Executor or manager of the business, and 4th) I give and bequeath to Catherine Ann LANIER (daughter of Zebulon LANIER) at the death or marriage of my said widow my boy TOM and any as all money that may be in the hands of my Executors or managers of business. And I do hereby disannull all former wills by me made and is hereby and null and void. I do hereby nominate and appoint my esteem friend James CAVENAUGH, Esqr. sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament written with my own hand. In testimony testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this December 14th, 1859. J. MURRAY (seal) Signed, sealed published and declared by the Testator to be his Last Will and Testament in our presence who in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness: Test: Wm. SHOLAR Samuel C. JAMES State North Carolina Duplin County Court July Term 1860 The foregoing paper writing purporting to be the said Last Will and Testament of James MURRAY deceased is exhibited for Probate in Open Court, by James CAVENAUGH, the executor therein named and the due execution thereof by the said James MURRAY is proved by the oath and examination of William SHOLAR and Samuel C. JAMES the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefor considered by the Court, that the said paper writing and every part thereof, is the Last Will and Testament of the said James MURRAY and the sum is ordered to be recorded and filed. And thereupon the said James CAVENAUGH executor as aforesaid, duly qualifies as such, by taking the Oath required by law. Test: John J. WHITEHEAD, Clk.
