P. 444 Written: August 18, 1824 Recorded: July 1827 State of North Carolina Duplin County In the name of God Amen I John SLOAN of the State of North Carolina and county of Duplin being sic of body but of sound mind and perfect memory blessed be God and calling to mind the mortality of the body that is appointed for all ---- to die, I therefore do this the 18th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four make and publish this my last will and Testament ------------from following that is to say. First of all I give and bequeath unto my beloved son and daughter Jacob BRYANT and his wife Mary BRYANT half of all my land now in possession with the all of all my personal or perishable estate consisting of stock of varius discription and lidewise the half of all of my household and kitchen furniture and likewise the crop now on the ground of every discription with the plantation tools and all that can consist of parishable property pertaining to my estate. 2nd I give and bequeath unto my son William SLOAN the otherhalf of all my lands now in my possession. Lastly I nominate and appoint my true and trusty friend my son in law Jacob BRIANT. The sole executor to this my last will and Testament to dispose of this my estate. In manner and form above prescribed & In witness whereof I herby set my hand and affix my seal this day and date above. Signed, sealed and transferred to the executor. In presence of Mr. John POWELL, John MCCANNE. Signed: John SLOANE (Seal) Duplin County July Term 1827 There was the within will proved in open court by the Oath of Jno.
