Written: September 20, 1782 Will of John Sullavin, Duplin County, North Carolina - 1782 In the name of God, Amen. I John Sullavin of Duplin County, North Carolina being very Sick and Weak in Body, but of Perfect Mind and Memory, Thanks being given unto God Calling unto God the Mind of Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to once die, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say Principally and first of all, I give and Recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian Burial, at the discretion of my exector: nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the Same again, by the Mighty Power of God, and as touching Such Worldly Estate it has pleased God to have blessed me in this Life I Give dispose and the Same in the following manner and form: First I give and bequeath to Agga my beloved wife one mare cauled Fan and bridle and sadle allso I give to my son Hamton Sullavin one Shilling Sterling and I also give to my beloved son John Sullavin one Shilling Sterling and I allso give to my beloved son William Sullavin and my daught Elizabeth and my daughter Nancy I give and my son Robert and my son Calib and my son Eleany and my son Archer all my stock of cattle and some of what cattle that had with my stock and for every child to have an equal part not one having more than the other. I also give to my son Michael one hundred acres of land that I bought of Benjamin Outlaw old part of the land I bought of John Sullavin and for him to pay to the Estate five hard dollars on my accounts and my son Thomas and my son Archer and my son Eleany and my daughters receive said lands and may be sold and the money be divided equally amungst them with all debts dew me.
